I really don't want to get into the saga that led up to it all. Needless to say we knew that something was wrong but he didn't seem to be in any pain, just feeling a little off. Restless.
We were going to take him to the vet in the morning. We decided to let him rest on his pillow next to our bed. When I went to check on him 30-40 minutes later he was gone.
I know that I have posted this picture before but it's my favorite of him, our Chasers.
LP didn't seemed phased by it the day after- but the following day was different. He just cried for probably a total of 40 minutes. Inconsolable, nothing would sooth him. He didn't want to eat, didn't want to be put down, didn't want to play. He just kinda clung to me while letting out great big sobs and tears. I just kept rocking him until he finally fell asleep.
It was so unlike LP-- I worry that he was feeling a little lost without his furry friend.

I'm so so sorry sweetie. ((many hugs))
I'm sorry :(
I'm so sorry. We lost our family puppy last Thanksgiving, and I still totally miss her. I am, however, glad to hear that things are going well with the baby. Take care!
I'm so, so sorry. R and I lost our first furbaby suddenly and unexpectedly to congestive heart failure, and it was devastating.
From his picture, Chase looks like he was very happy and well loved. It will take time, but eventually the memories will bring smiles more than they bring tears and sadness. (((Hugs)))
Oh I'm so sorry - losing a beloved pet leaves such a hole. But the silver lining to that is that anyone so sad to lose a pet must have loved that pet well, and can hopefully find peace in knowing that a wonderful life and home was provided.
Hugs to you.
